What is Machine to Machine (M2M)?

Technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same ability M2M uses a device (such as a sensor or meter) to capture an event (such as temperature, production levels, etc.), which is relayed through a network (wireless, wired or hybrid) to an application (software program), that translates the captured event into meaningful information. Repeatability is usually the most important data.

What is an Human Machine Interface (HMI)?

A human–machine interface or (HMI) touch screen is the apparatus which presents process data to a human operator and through which the human operator controls the process.

HMI is usually linked to the SCADA system's databases and software programs to provide trending, diagnostic data and management information such as, scheduled maintenance procedures, logistic information, detailed schematics for a particular sensor or machine and expert-system troubleshooting guides.

What is a industrial control system?

One example of an industrial control system is a programmable logic controller (PLC). PLCs are specialized hardened computers which are frequently used to synchronize the flow of inputs from sensors and events with the flow of outputs to actuators. The first programmable logic controller (PLC) project was developed in 1968

How to choose the right system integrator

System Integrators in the automation industry typically provide the product and application experience in implementing complex automation solutions. System integrators are tightly linked to their accounts and often are viewed as the engineering department for small manufacturers, handling their automation system installation, commissioning and long term maintenance.
